Creating and Applying Page Styles

Collabora Office uses page styles to specify the layout of a page, including the page orientation, background, margins, headers, footers, and text columns. To change the layout of an individual page in a document, you must create and apply a custom page style to the page.

To Define a New Page Style

  1. Choose View - Styles.

  2. Click the Page Styles icon.

  3. In the list of page styles, right-click an item, and then choose New.

  4. On the Organizer tab, type a name in the Name box.

  5. Do one of the following:

  1. Use the tabs in the dialog to set the layout options for the page style, and then click OK.

To Apply a Page Style

  1. Click in the page that you want to apply the page style to.

  2. Do one of the following:

To Manually Override the “Next style” of a Page Style

  1. Place cursor between the page with the page style and the page with the style specified in Next style.

  2. Right-click and choose Edit Page Break.

  3. Select the With page style checkbox.

  4. Enter the page style to be applied.

See Manually Defined Range of a Page style.

note

A special situation arises when a Next style is different than the page style itself, and you want to apply that page style to two consecutive pages. For example, if you have applied First Page style to a page, and want to apply First Page style again to the immediately following page, then you must manually override First Page style, because it is configured to be followed by Default Page Style.

To Apply a Page Style to a New Page

  1. Click in the document where you want a new page to start.

  2. Choose Insert - More Breaks - Manual Break.

  3. Select Page break.

  4. In the Page Style box, select the page style that you want to apply to the page that follows the manual break.

  5. Click OK.
